Charlie uses a Nord Electro 2 Seventy-Three, a Korg Karma and a Kurzweil PC2X in his standard rig. Additionally, the Kurzweil is run through an MXR Phase 90 phaser pedal into a Roland KC-300 keyboard amp. When the occasion calls for it, Charlie breaks out the Roland AX-7 strap-on "keytar" and enjoys the freedom of a full range of motion!

Perfectly packable into the Honda Element, Charlie is mobile and ready to rock--whether you're in the studio, or on the stage, do yourself a favor and get Chazzed!

The Saltines were borne of St. Louis Park High School, comprised of a group of friends who'd played together in Jazz Lab. The band yielded tunes such as "Ode To Da Pimp", "Honky Lips", "Move Me" and "Grandma". The band performed and won the 1995 Battle Of The Bands, tying with school favorite Buggaboo.

Formerly known as Chode, Commodore 64 didn't get its name until minutes before their live debut....kinda like U2. C64, however, did not experience fame tantamount to the Irish rock band. Nevertheless, they did pull off the theme to "The Price Is Right", after which they staged a mock game show, and busted into some funky jams.

Swing Cat Swing! blasted onto the St. Louis scene in the fall of 1998, at the height of the revived swing craze. After a short period of rehearsal, the band rapidly gained notoriety in clubs, dance halls and private parties, even appearing in a Fox2 promo commercial. A few years later, Steve Stecher (bs) and Tony Barbata (dr) came aboard. Sans Charlie since 2003, the band continues to perform to this day.

The quality of music presented and performed stands alone at the apex of Charlie's musical journey.

Essentially the Heather Dawn Band sans Heather, Fictional Characters was a demo project to serve as a sample of the musicianship drum prodigy Tony Royster, Jr. might find in St. Louis. With song lengths no shorter than 12 minutes, the four-track EP features a 21-minute free-form jam, and a dynamite drum solo by Jeremy Flagg over "Blue Bossa". Get the full scoop here.

After returning to Minneapolis, Charlie met several of the Blues Boys at Westwood Community Church. He descended with them into Jim's basement, and a jam was had. After a barbecue at D&G Motors, several East Bethel pig roasts, and a southern spread at The Marsh, it could safely be said that if there was food, Blind Slim and his boys would be there.

The band had already been together for several years, with Matt doubling up on guitar and keyboards (of which he has many). Once Charlie joined on, Matt returned to his six-stringed love, and riotous fun was had.

After former Steeling Dan keyboardist Michael Dripps abdicated the coveted throne of Minneapolis' 13-piece Steely Dan cover band, Charlie was asked to step in and take the chair. Having spent the previous 11 years as a sponge of all things Dan, Charlie used a handful of charts to verify chords, and then popped his Nord on top of Famous Dave's B3 organ, and lended his hand to making Donald and Walter proud. Steeling Dan represents a new high point in Charlie's musical career.
